bio & contact

Tanna Peters comes from Juneau, Alaska where she has worked with extensively with Perseverance Theatre, and Juneau Lyric Opera. She holds an MFA in Scenic Design from the University of Maryland where she had the opportunity to work with resident scenic designer Daniel Conway. At UMD, she completed designs in collaboration with The Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company, director Daniel DeRaey and Director Scot Reese and Director Walter Dallas from the Freedom Theatre in Philadelphia.

Tanna completed her undergraduate education at Eastern Washington University where she had the opportunity to design children's theatre, mainstage productions, and film while working as both a master carpenter and scenic artist. Upon graduation at Eastern she recieved the highest award for the institution, the Francis B Huston award. Before Tanna attended Eastern she travelled to Venezuela for a year on a Rotary Youth Exchange scholarship.

Currently Tanna has chosen to take her love of design on a new path. She works as a graphic designer for the Juneau Empire in Juneau, Alaska. Never far from the theatre world, she has recently designed DISNEY'S BEAUTY AND THE BEAST for the Juneau Lyric Opera. She is currently in the design process for EQUUS with Perseverance Theatre.
